OBREGON CORPORATION
We admire the huge promotion to this noble art for the local government in promoting one of their major source of employment and attraction of that region looking to disseminate and promote this art anywhere else in the world as no one else other location which also made “piteado” handcrafted with original pita. Installing a “piteado” fair for this purpose every year as a government economic program.

But the two things we really respect and admire passionately the mystical tradition of this noble and picturesque city is:
1 .- We have no record whatsoever in that area that encourage or tolerate imitations in Gold and Silver elaborations to scam the final consumer as a original embroidered with threads of those expensive metals

2 .- That even when they know the real story that Towards 1591 the Viceroy Luis de Velasco sent nearly a hundred Tlaxcalans families, to pacify the Chichimecas region in Colotlán and teach them to cultivate the land among other trades.
We value greatly the community which write their story with pita, not invented yet a fictitious colorful history much like the PRI to accommodate Heroes and Stories at their convenience to ensure that in that area “piteado” art was invented.

The following is in the sense of solidarity with the promoting mission of that region:

Just as there are cities that call themselves world capital of coffee, joy, memory, etc.. Some historians of that area said what once the teacher Asahel Balam Ku (One of the major drivers of this art in this area) wrote: That during the period of the Porfiriato became to Colotlán Jalisco Mexico (upstate) a man from a region between the states of Puebla and Oaxaca (It may be of Veracruz, Oaxaca or Chiapas where it is shown they have the conditions for growing the type of agave from which is extracted the kind of sisal called pita) and settled in the city, dedicated to saddlery. Something that caught attention was that when manufacturing holsters the owner's initials embroidered with a fine thread that it twisted. Fibers with which he elaborated that fine thread were a ixtle he brought from his land out there that he called "pita." The simple work in principle was refined and extending to other saddlers.
Last century pita embroidery masters from Colotlán, Jalisco purged and strengthened this activity, until extent of calling of this city as "piteado Capital of the World," self- called since the completion of the First National Fair in May Piteado 1992, formerly known as regional fair.
Slogan that was released, along the stunning rise of “Banda music” movement that was in all of Mexico and the Hispanic community in the EU, which combined the use of piteados items, such as the “piteado” belt to be consistent with fashion at parties and dances, sales of these luxury items were on par with the growth of the “Banda Music” fashion.

Seeing piteados product sales increased the region's government decided to change its Colotlan traditional fair to"the piteado fair" self-appointed as the world capital of piteado, in a way to provide more support to the artisans who are dedicated to piteado arts, consolidating one of the best regional fairs of Jalisco and southern Zacatecas, the "National Piteado Fair" (Fenapi) in Colotlan, which is known for its variety of events, large crowds of national and international tourism impact because of the intention to promote and preserve the works of embroidered saddlery with Pita installed in the region, at Municipal Handicraft Expo-sale, where organized and recognized saddlers by the municipality to develop, exhibit and offered for sale this delicate designs of piteado art like saddles, belts, headbands, bags and many other items.
The fair has also served as a platform to highlight the beauty of women in traditional Colotlense coronation of piteado fair Queen worthy ambassadors, who also represents the craftsmanship of piteado, promote the tourist of the region beautiful attractions and have excelled in competitions beauty, which brings great recognition and significant investment in tourism to the City.

The opening parade of the Fair has become one of the most attractive traditional events for the community and visitors, as floats, beautifully decorated with colorful and taste for this craftsmanship, transports the queens of the entire region and the state.
Once the parade ends, the appointment is in the people's theater, whit presentation of the shows of the piteado National Fair as entertainers and which performs the ceremony of coronation of Queen of the fair, which is elected a few weeks before. The main square is the busiest area, with spaces for leisure and recreation for adults, where there are terraces, bars, dance halls, restaurants and roosters fight arena “Palenque”.
Following the bad example of regulators, associations and committees of tequila producers from the same state have unsuccessfully tried to keep patents, names, embroidery and styles of intellectual property and search the story of the birth of this art that matches to them as the precursors of piteado seeking return of old sales levels and give them absolute control of the monopoly to be the only one place to the rights, designation of origin and exclusivity to produce embroidered item with pita manipulating some media information at that convenience concepts in some internet search engines.

That region suggests "piteado ages in Mexico." Based on chronological ages of some artisans from this area, who allegedly said that the first “piteado” elaborations barely was handle for them since 1889.

Concepts and myths in embezzling way there only in Colotlan the best pita embroidery work producers, when dispersed communities in the same state of Jalisco, Zacatecas, Michoacan, Morelos, Guerrero, Durango, Nuevo Leon, Veracruz, Oaxaca, Sinaloa, State of Mexico, and San Luis Potosi in the Mexican Republic there are groups of artisans working in their best quality leather embroidered with pita, that the absence of government incentives promotions on their made products they then sell just the leather strips embroidered to this special region of Jalisco which has become a collection center of this art embroidery that sometimes ends badly for resale. It is true that this area was the first to export these items to Spain in the colonial era and to the United States in this modern era because they had deceived the majority of artisans in other states and communities that only they met the requirements and standards for export, until the opening of free trade agreement and release of some duty tariffs.

It should be noted that on this area was NOT born this art of embroidery on skins that we saw has its beginnings in Arab villages before Christ, came to Europe at the time of the Crusades between the XI and XII centuries. With military campaigns at the request of the Papacy against the Seljuk Turks and Saracens (so called before the mulsuman), the culture of embroidery fur was spread in Asia where fund a good aceptance in Persian. In Europe though embroidered with silk thread was used this technique to make papal vestments and the royalty of Europe, found in a type of horsemanship born in Spain widely accepted and some modifications are added such as carved and engraved designs with mixed mudajar art is ultimately brought to America by the Spanish where in that specific area are around 1530 european settlers led by Pedro Chirinos Almindez teach this noble craft work to the natives of New Spain (including the Huichol Indians). In colonial times this town was an important strategic commercial center because of its location between the cities of Guadalajara and Zacatecas.

We believe that a community should be considered a capital of piteado when felt that art in its parks, its churches, its streets, making this art by real artists in various articles of common use, not only belts or saddle accessories and at least more than half of the residents of this community is engage into this activity.
Many works by this community have been shown in national and international fairs, some craftsmen in this region with the true love of art began to leave a legacy of his work in public buildings. As piteados murals at the North University Center.

In our production line we have an imitation of pita made of cotton thread that needs to be very knowledgeable to differentiate from the original work (but from our factory even with export quality and follow-up to restore consumer confidence so which is the original pita regulatory we label it as a single craft embroidered leather with imitation pita cotton thread) and although we make designs (in original pita) improved by far in better quality and price compare which is produced on this area. We always have in mind respect for the different regional characteristics where there are people who develop this art, we encourage and seek to contribute to the NO extinction of this noble labor, and people dedicated to this look to emigrate from the origin places, we avoid the making of similar designs, which manages this area or any other region. Our works are much avant-garde and daring stylish according with the fashion.
.
Since it is a craft some copy rights reserved are difficult to realize since it is known that an item is never identical to other and the technical patent disseminated around the world is completely handmade.

It was timely for the government of that region to take advantage of the benefits was leaving the “Band Music” fashion at the time, but yet the big mistake was:
1. Have not done a real good planning with a solid project development of this art to the future
2. Ignoring the “banda music” was a fad and that the validity of that fashion have to be adapt the designs and changed as this style of “banda music” changes (Today Banda music of "tamborazo"
Duranguense or whatever comes)
3. Have not done a market study and just focus that art with selfish vision of monopoly for Colotlan region
4. The make of a City- mark without knowing the origin of piteado was NOT born in this region of Jalisco
5. Failure to required monitoring and defend this piteado art with real actions within their own federal state against mechanized manufacturing embroidery machines and computerized electronic piracy neglecting a branch of this art that today confuses consumers.

6. - There are still many saddlery shops and a large number of people involved in pita embroidery, including women and children, but the craftsmen saddlers still cling to the use of rough and thick cowhide and heavy duty tongs Wood (gafa) to press and do the embroidery, that keep them away competitiveness on the increasingly demanding of items with best quality, texture, and price accessibility over a good product.
By taking this art only as a handcraft, as time passed it was losing the interest and demand for developed handicrafts piteadas in that region still made with crude and rudimentary traditional materials, and techniques used in this work, generalizing between trade established that the type of crude and rough Piteado in its finish is very difficult to sell.

7. - This area focus their apparel consumer products for "Mariachi" and Mexican charro (Mexican “charros” are very special and delicate to please his taste because in his "folklore" mentality always looking for what NOT exists). Such errors productive development strategy by governments in that area based on a taste for a kind of music that brought later the decreasing of piteado handicrafts sales in considerable numbers at the same fashion of "Band Music” was disappearing, and demand for this kind of work has been falling. They joined a committee and regulatory promoter board does not reflect real improvements for encouraging artisans who increasingly tend to emigrate to the EU looking for opportunities (agricultural and feudal cooperative ideas in a misguided attempt to politicize this fine art at the enterprise level and to serious market demands, in this specific region and the mindset of the participants have never worked). .

In addition to major wholesalers distributor established in Paramount California and Cicero Illinois in the United States with CEO’s who were born in this” scorpions” land for convenience divert the traditional activities of a community that strives to make a clean earned title of “piteado capital of the world”, but those marketers instead of encourage investment and development in the channel to make “streak” belts, a belt made from a flower full cloth strip attached to a cow leather strip which dishonors the tradition of where history is written with pita
